The Famous-X was born in 2005 from an idea of Sted (Stefano Droetto, guitarist in Italian Power Metal band Highlord and bass player in Warnipples).

The music was meant to be all instrumental but was soon developed into whole songs. This promo I’m sitting here with contains Stefano Droetto on all guitars, bass and drum programming… and Andrea Marchisio (Singer of Highlord) on vocals.

Famous-X is a little different from the music of Highlord… more traditionally Heavy Metal than Power Metal but certainly not bad… not at all… actually I’m quite impressed. The first track is called “Intro: A Perfect Fiasco” and it’s just a 1 minute… intro to track 2 “The Famous-X”. This track contains a catchy riff, a catchy and very memorable chorus that I can’t get out of my head. Andrea’s voice is a little rougher than what I’m used to from his side… but it suits this track fine.

Track 3… “Bullet Time” (inspired by the adventures of the PC game “Max Payne”) is maybe not as catchy at first listen, but this track grows and grows and after 10 listens I find this track the best. Stefano Droetto and Andrea Marchisio shines on this track. Stefano’s guitar playing is just splendid on "Bullet Time" and Andrea is maybe doing his best job ever in my humble opinion. His style is rougher and more aggressive on “Bullet Time” and I wish that he would sing like this more often… even in Highlord.

All in all a very promising promo and I hope for a full length album in the near future. “The Famous-X” is produced by Stefano and a guy named Danny at OneVoice Studio, and the cover artwork is done by Renato Semolini.

Check them out.
