Well... it’s hard for me to be objective when it comes to Bay Area thrash metal (I swallow everything) and this demo by Italian band PSYCOSTASIA is just such a little thing.
PSYCOSTASIA was formed in late 2004 by guitarists Andrea and Vince, and now after a lot of line-up changes they have recorded and released their first demo entitled ‘Involution’. We get 4 tracks of pure Bay Area thrash metal and to my surprise it’s actually very good. The 4 tracks are packed with awesome riffs, fluid breaks and variety just at the right spots, so be ready to bang your head until your ears bleed.
The vocals from singer Andrea fit the music fine although he was not the original singer. But the band had to let their former singer go, so Andrea took over the vocals and the rest is history.
Well... not much more to tell about this demo except: - Don’t expect anything groundbreaking just pure Bay Area thrash heavily rooted in the late 80’s... and its pure fun to listen to.
