Massacre Records present us one more sunshine of
an exceptional band with long years history and cult status – STORMWITCH. Andy Mück has gathered again the warriors under the flag, and his
high voice has achieved the depth and the precision of maturity.
The new album of the Germans
follows the strong traditions of the band. It united in itself the hard
clue of the German heavy metal and the melodies. This provides us an answer
what is the reference of URIAH HEEP with
the heavy genders! The main melodies are
implemented by the vocals that create a new world from the strong riffs.
Although there are no surprises in the style the pleasant present is the
quality of „Season of
the Witch“. The songs are exceptionally
strong hits without self-quotes, and with fresh sound, although their
traditional form. The slower tracks implement a relaxing note, because they
are not served with hysterical minority, and they often sound optimistic. A
pinch of Rock`n`Roll also is a
part of the approaches of STORMWITCH. The
rhythms are not burdensome with complications.
The special formats of the
release include two bonus tracks. „The Singer's Curse“ is
eight minutes long dynamic confession. „Different Eyes“ is half-acoustic accent with piano.
We cannot pass the non-typical
artwork in the always artistic packed albums of the Germans. In this case
even if we accept the artwork as a contemporary challenge, its performance
is mediocre. At least its title could be more perspective written on the marble
stone, although the standard characters!
I could call the pleasant
moments with the new album of STORMWITCH a
relaxing heavy
metal. Although the enough songs for
head banging, the classical structure of the tracks carries somewhat
harmony. Let’s wish to the band not to waste much time till its next
release!
