When they released their debut „Human
Nature“
in 2011 the Israeli
SHREDHEAD had
a very thrash approach toward riffs and lyrics although that musically they
are brutal thrash metal touching death metal. Three years later the quartet
is back with the same musicians but they changed as personalities.
The second album of the band
accumulated the world of extreme atmosphere and the diverse influences are
gathered in amorphous contemporary metal. They are gathered but not united!
This diverse amalgam of influences made the gender of SHREDHEAD hardcore/modern metal. Ultra-fast rhythm masks the riffs into a wall of sound.
The aggressive vocals are more brutal but in the direction of hardcore. A
significant influence by PANTERA can be heard in the vocals as well as
in the music. A bit more unnoticeable are the similarities with the
experimental albums of ANTHRAX.
In parallel with the aggression the boys tried to catch a melody from the
mass taste and to implement it in their tracks. These attempts make them
close in style with a band like SYLOSIS.
The aspiration of the quartet to
implement groovie moods and at the same time to strengthen the dynamics in
the songs to make them suitable for live performance sound artificial to
some extend. The different songs bring memories of different
contemporary bands, the clear identity of which is not their strong side.
Speed for mosh-pit, aggression for the whole metal
fan community, and a pinch of melodies for the girls. The appearance of the
Israeli in front of wider audience did not pass without sacrifices. They
seek their identity and their success balancing between the tendencies and
their own personal essence. Out from its context a sentence from their
official presentation sounds as such like this; „These
11 tracks depict the way to self-destruction, in all of its aspects and
forms in a life that needs to end.“
