This February, Secret Rule, a young female fronted band from Rome, Italy, is going to release their debut album "Transposed Emotions".

Their style can be described as Gothic Rock with influences of Power, Industrial and Modern Metal. One can say that they threw many different elements in a pot to make it a homogeneous whole and in some way, it worked out really well. The music does not sound overloaded. From time to time, you can also hear some acoustic parts, which happen to be the best parts of the album. Singer Angela's voice is powerful and reminds me a bit of Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil). But I think you either like Angela's voice or not, I think I belong to the second group.

Unfortunately, "Transposed Emotions" is a very average album. Of course, there are some catchy melodies and I think, the ballad "Vision" is a good song... but that's it. I just can't find anything special about the record. Also, an album recorded in 2014 could sound more professional and not like knocked together in the home studio.

I just hope that the second album will be better, because there is some potential, I can't deny that. But Secret Rule didn't show the full extend of it yet.
