15 years were necessary for the German power/speed virtuosos to judge the modern times with their new album. It was worth the wait! In front of us we have a piece of pure energy that melts the old school of SCANNER with the perfect sound of a contemporary recording.

The guitar player Axel Julius is the reason for the recognizable melodies of the German band! The trademark sound of SCANNER is recognizable; we are do not speaking of auto-quotes. The new songs are exceptionally fresh. At the same time the band provides what we expected - a return to the essence of SCANNER. The fast riffs and the epic moments are melted in classical and contemporary heavy metal.

Starting its new tour the band performs material from its first four albums, and ignores the release with female vocals. Yes, Efthimios interprets all the periods of the band exceptionally successful, but his timbre is closest to Haridon Lee – the vocalist from the second and the third album of the SCANNER. On the new album besides these similarities there is also a wealth of vocals that have the theatrical ability for transformation. Without mentioning the rest of the names from the contemporary line-up we should say that they went into the matter brilliantly!

The depth of the style of SCANNER is such that their heavy metal in its wealth takes from the means of expression of speed and progressive sworn brothers. The long wait has filled every second of “The Judgment” with high quality. All songs do not give way to the single of the release. The whole album could be listened to with pleasure. The traditional fantastic themes of the lyrics sound a bit close to the earth. The German band interprets a bit more the current problems of the present day with their own means of expression.

This is a perfect release for the hard fans as well as for the setting a new criteria for qualitative heavy metal.
