Hailing from my own provence this Dutch death/thrash band releases their first EP. They are a rather popular band in local clubs and they have already shared stages with several known bands like Darkane, Destruction, Evergrey, Masterplan and Hypocrisy. This being said, the expectations are rather high and I have to admit that I'm not disappointed with the music at all.

The band plays a mix of Swedish melodic death in the vain of Dark Tranquility, In Flames and At the Gates. Pieter Oevering grunts and screams with quite some variety, sometimes helped by Marten Hutten. The songs are packed full with melody, especially the guitar parts of Mark Hutten and Armand Venema are very melodic and although the songs are not very complicated, they are quite variable and keep you focused. At times some parts in the songs also remind me of Carcass. The melodic guitar pieces in the song "Conspiracy" makes me think of the band Tourniquet. The heavy thrash riffs combined with the tight fast drumming of Douwe Talma on top of that the melody embedded in the songs asks for more. Although you hear several influences of other bands, the band somehow manages to sound different from the lot.

With six songs the EP is over before you know it and I am left behind with the hunger for more.
