A lot of orchestral metal bands first write songs with guitar as a base and then add the orchestral and choir parts. Septic Flesh is different. Christos Antoniou (guitar & orchestral arrangements) is the key person in that. He has a bachelor degree in composing classic, barok and romantic music and that is the base of the songs. First he writes the classical parts on piano and then adds the metal instruments. The result is that a lot of songs sound like soundtracks and that they are very bombastic. It all sounds very gigantic and the lyrics about Greek myth written by Sotiris fit perfectly.

With this new album Septic Flesh shows that they are the band in this genre all the other black/death orchestral metal bands have to compete with. The dark metallic riffs, the dragon vocals of Seth and this combined with cinematic orchestral music has never sounded better. You can compare Septic Flesh with a band like Dimmu Borgir, but this new album 'Titan' beats them on every front. "Burn" indeed burns everything to pieces with its evil sound and the perfect riffs in combination with the choirs and the high speed in a song like "Titan" is pure genius. They say that there is no such thing as perfection, but when you listen to this album spin after spin, you have to conclude that this album gets very close. I can't name a thing that they should improve on, on the next album.

Every song is an adventure by itself, I advice you to go on this journey with the album Titan(ic).
