One helluva fist in the
stomach!! That's how it felt when I
first listened to Sea's 'Sorry
To Be Sane'. Heavy as a sledgehammer on
a solid steel anvil. New vintage rock
bands with sound from the glory 70's is
popping up now and then and Sea is a
mega interesting Danish project. Their
sound has shades, which recalls from
bands like Baroness, Rival Sons,
Alice in Chains and elder bands like
Thin Lizzy, Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas.
Strong guitars and a singer in
world class is a foundation for high
score from me. Anders Brink sings like a
mix of Bruce Dickinson, Robert Plant and
Mats Levén in Candlemass. 'Cry' is a
groovy rock n roll track with sharp
guitar sound and heavy drums. It feels
like Black Sabbath was an inspiration to
this mega heavy song. 'Eyes of Sedona'
and 'Another Song to Sing' are two
sensational tunes with clear influences
from Iron Maiden mixed with some
psychedelic 70's rock and it steams of
vintage rock packed in a 'deluxe'
package. Maybe the strongest tracks
together with 'Sorry To Be Sane'.
The tasty 'House of Air' is a
heavy up-tempo rock track. 'Aeon' is an
epic and breath-taking little song
before the stiff 'Ride On' begins. A
very catchy and swinging track with Led
Zeppelin taste. The closing track
'Battle To Be Seen' is a half
progressive rock track with charming
guitars and captivating vocals. Just
over 30 minutes of classy hard rock and
this is a given purchase to all fans of
vintage/70's hard rock.
Sea is heavy as lead and the
music is performed by very talented musicians. Check out this band!
