Scar For Life is no stranger to many, this is their fourth album, but to me they are a completely new acquaintance. I have been listening to this album many, many times because I really meant to write this review for quite some time. So I feel I have a firm grip on this album, an album that has a few bright spots, but now enough to keep me interested in them.

The album kicks off with a kick in the balls: "Thirteen Revolution" is hard and heavy, and has almost nothing in common with the rest of the album. After a great beginning things slow down for a while, and the next interesting song is "Promised Land", a small melodic gem with some Scorpions references. Then we have to skip to track 8: where the breathtaking ballad: "My Dark Serenade" kicks in and track 9 "Carlos Wonder" where they mix up AOR with power metal. The albums end on a high note with the title-track, where they are firing on all cylinders.

But this feel like an old Ratt album: too many fillers and a few highlights. But if you are into bands like Winger, Scorpions and Black Sabbath (Tony Martin era) this might be something you should check out - to me it's just another album that floats thru the system without leaving a mark.
