Although somewhat unpolished in its execution, this self-released EP by the young Polish band Repulsor is in fact a bit of a gem. For fans of old-school thrash, there's definitely a great degree of recognition of the spirit of a genre of yonder years.

The short taste of Repulsor's abilities reminds me a bit of the Swedish band Midas Touch who sadly only released one album towards the end of the 80s, 'Presage of Disaster'. It was an amazing album with a great energy, and it's exactly this energy I think Repulsor also carry. Add to that a tiny touch of Destuction - especially in the shape of the style of vocalist Filip.

'Trapped in a Nightmare' is brutal and straightforward thrash effort, only interrupted by a fine acoustic interlude called The Summoning. No wheels have been invented here, it's just rock solid tunes directly from the old school. Check them out!
