Pripjat is a town in Ukrane and needed to be evacuated because of the nuclear accident in Tschernobyl, which immediately explains the album title. Pripjat plays old school thrash metal with Kreator and especially early Slayer as their biggest influences. Even the vocals of Kirill Gromada have some slight similarities with Mille. Another band that can be mentioned here is Destruction.

Nothing new or original can be heard on this album and the guitar soli are in howling Slayer style as well. Nevertheless it isn't a punishment to listen to the album. The youngsters have a lot of pleasure in playing this style and fortunately don't take themselves too serious. If you want to have a real party with some beers and you need some music to it based on early Slayer, Kreator with a small Bay Area influence, this is what you need.
