Pretty Wild

In the backwater of successfull 80s hard rocking bands such as: Crashdïet and Crazy Lixx, it comes several young and hungry Swedish sleaze bands such as this particular project called Pretty Wild. With the right looks and groovy rock n roll with a really sharp vocalist makes my tiny fears of a unimaginative plagiarizing of the originals 'Motley Crue' disappeared very quickly from my mind.

The band hails from Malmö and was established back in 2006 and has a debut album (All The Way) from 2008 in their backpack. Apparently I missed this album when it was released, so I have unstained ears before 'Pretty Wild'. Strong melodies with polished guitar loops, that sometimes makes me think of the old Canadian icon Aldo Nova. Pretty Wild plays within the framework of the melodic sleaze hard rock and delivers in fact not so big surprises. Just a big darn dose of awesome straight forward sleazy rock!

They have several really hard and shiny rock gems which allows me to give a quite high total score to this album. No filler songs that steals my time nor energy from me. I'm just sitting in my armchair and have a really good time with Pretty Wild's disc. If you like Def Leppard, Danger Danger, Warrant, Cinderella, Night Ranger, Motley Crüe or want to go back to the hairy band period from the 80's, you have a new band to check out.

I'm weak for this kind of rock with splendid vocal performance and pleasantly catchy melodies. The guitar work is on an higher level than it use to be with these kind of bands and that is a big plus in my score book. Their true and shiny love for the LA hair rock is overwhelming and rubs off through the speakers. A given purchase to the fans.

Not an album which will change the sound of hard rock, just a damn good album in this little rock genre...
