Volkswagen is the first thing that I had to think of when I finished listening to this album. Like the car, this album by German death metal combo Lay Down Rotten is reliable and decent. Nothing spectacular, nothing that sticks out, nothing new, nothing out of the box, just safe and as expected.

A well produced heavy sound and skillfull musicianship all excecuted in average death metal songs. Take some Illdisposed, old Benediction, a sniff of Gorefest and some old school Swedish death metal sounds and you get a perfect blend of music. So this seventh album is just a good album, but that is about it. I like listening to it, but I miss the excitement, its like a very defensive played soccer game won by the score of 1-0. You are glad with the outcome, but not pleased about how they played.

For me the band may take some more risks next time and try to add something new or different.
