The newly-appointed Quiet Riot
frontman Jizzy Pearl (ex LA Guns, Ratt,
Adler's Appetite) had to rename this
release in the last minute, just to draw
a thick line under ongoing problems with
signature band Love/Hate. I had to
rename everything in this review from
Love/Hate to Jizzy Pearl. Very confusing...
Originally slated as a clean Love/Hate
release, any mention of the US rockers
has been scrubbed from the new EP
'Crucified'. In addition Pearl will now
undertake next spring’s UK tour as Jizzy Pearl’s
Love/Hate!
Let's concentrate on the music instead. Six rock
'n' roll tracks are packed on
this EP. Nothing thrilling or any hefty
surprise. Very straight forward hard
rock in a semi-punk rock tempo on the
first half of the disc. The three
initial songs have a quite cheeky
attitude and Jizzy sings with a rasping
rock voice that fits this dusty
rock 'n' roll music. I got stoked about the
lovely acoustic song 'I Don't Want To Be
Your Baby' and the slow, bluesy song
'Too Late', which are the only tracks that
rescues this EP from my axe.
My overall rating stays at the
low OK level, nothing more...
