This Italian band has 8 members and this is their first full length since they
started in 2009. With 2 singers, Aeon (female lead vocals), Elisa (singing on
this album, but already replaced by La Sisiki) and a member on Flute. The other
musicians play the regular instruments necesarry for a band: bass, drums, (lead)-guitars
and keyboard.
The
album starts rather up tempo, but not so heavy. The flute immediately takes part
in the music and the female vocals are o.k., but not outstanding. After a few
more songs, I doze away a bit, it sounds a bit flawed and tame. For me
personal it could have been a bit heavier, with more cojones. The songs are
rather average, I never get the idea that there is something special happening.
At times I have to think about the band Spellblast because of the flute and some
folk elements. Towards the end of the CD I have heard enough, it is just not
good enough to catch the ear. Therefore the songs are too weak, the production
too tame and flawed and the singing not strong enough. And yes the track on
the digipack "Greensleeves" is Holy Shires version of the traditional English
folk song.
An
average band and if you spit outside you could hit nine just like that.
