This band was founded by Dirk Schmitt in 1996 and can be labeled as a real
German (power) metal band. The first thing that caught my attention was the vocals of
Dirk. He has a graspy harsh voice, which sounds like a younger version of Udo
Dirkschneider or Martin Walkier. In the song "Insomnia" he even sounds a bit
like a very harsh and aggressive singing Oliva. Together with the kind of
teutonic music and the double bass drums you get that German metal feeling.
They never paint outside the lines and that makes this album an average album
with nothing to bitch about. The guitar riffs are rather in front of the mix and
with Ralf Scheepers as guest on the track "Metal Unity" the album is a
pleasure listening to. That the vocalist has his limits can be heard on the
(power)-ballad "The Watchmaker", not everyone is born to sing clean.... Fans of
Accept, Primal Fear, Rage and everything that sounds like a mix of those bands
should look out for this album.
