This Dutch death metal band has been active since 2006 and with one demo and the debut
album 'Suppressing All Who Refuse" this is their second one. Sonja Schuringa
(guitars) and Jessica Otten (guitars) started the band and they are the only two
members left after their debut performing on this album. With York Keijzer they've
found the ideal singer for this death metal violence and ex God Dethroned
members Michiel vd Plicht (drums) and Henri Sattler (bass) they complete the
line-up on this album. Besides that there are two vocal guest appearances of
Jason Keyser (Origin) and Tom Whitty (Dyscarnate).
With two ex- God Dethroned members in the line up you can almost guess what to
expect and for the biggest part that is correct. Brutal old school death metal
with grooves, slamming parts, break downs, (and for a death metal band)
catchy refrains and a portion of melody. The production is heavy and the music
explodes out of your speakers. I think the band is at is best when they slow
down a bit like in "The Basher" and the variable track "Dispossession", but if
you like it full speed you probably have other favorite songs.
Not the most original band, but because of the very good musicianship and
production a welcome band in the Dutch death metal world. With Metal Blade
behind them there must be a good band to get on tour with to promote this "The
Deceived".
