Devil's Heaven is Swedish metal
group and they play melodic metal with
a taste of the eighties. Marcus Nygren is
vocalist in this rock band and also the
leader of the interesting AOR project
State Of Salazar. The other band members
have a long musical history in diverse
local projects. Devil's Heaven plays
classic European heavy metal with tiny
ounces of progressive elements.
They open the album with their
strongest song 'Welcome II the Show' and
the pace is high and screams classic
heavy metal. The following track
'Demerital Action' is a melodic metal
song with big vocals from Marcus, which
must be one of Sweden's best hidden vocal
gems in the metal genre. He handles both
the highest notes and the darker songs
like 'Devil Woman'. Impressing. The calm
ballad 'Touched By An Angel' is a
sensitive song with top vocal
performance and shining guitars. This
album has much of the 80's heavy metal
sound with catchy choruses and melodic
guitar hooks. 'Mean Street City', 'Day
of Doom' and 'Riders in the Sky' are
three typical 80's metal tracks. I feel
Riot, Tank, Gamma Ray, Y&T and Saxon
in these songs. The sleazy rock song
'Let It All Hang Out' is more in a
classic Mötley Crüe style. The epic
track 'Festung Europa' turns the sound
into more modern progressive metal and I
like this change. This song is all
instrumental and without this short
tune, this album would have been quite
toothless. Sadly it's only two minutes
long. 'Cold' is next down tempo track
and Marcus deliver some amazing vocals.
Next sleaze rock track is 'Hot Sex'. One
of my favourite songs on the album is
the closing track 'Wine Me', which is a
classy hard rock tune.
My overall impression of
'Heaven On Earth' is; Devil's Heaven
doesn't bring us anything new or
sensational on the metal heaven, just a
nice hard rocking album with vocals in
world class. You can search them on Spotify if
you are curious about this new band.
