After six years in rehearsal
basements and with a dream of a studio
album Deed In Karma received a
sponsorship contribution from the famous
Danish footballer Thomas Gravesen, who
liked Jonas Holmberg's voice very much.
This band plays quite straight forward rock n
roll with several songs in the
alternative rock genre.
In the opening song 'I Ain't Crawling',
I feel some stokes from the Swedes in Mustasch with black guitars,
heavy groovy drums and strong vocals. In
'Communication' the pace is gentler and
Jonas sings adorable and this is one of
the finest tracks on "Good Dog". This is
an epic album with many influences from
the alternative rock scene, like in the
strong track 'War and I' and in the mid
tempo song 'She Could Be Dancing'.
'Karma Theme' is built in the heavy rock
style with some flirts with prog rock.
The track 'Stray Dog' is the best
song and is filled with dusty, thick
hard rock flavors. The half ballad 'No
Answer' is a sensitive song with a lot
of emotions.
I like when Jonas sings with his
mouth wide open, like he does in
'Anamnesis'. A tough song with mega
heavy drums. 'Waiting for the Sun'
sounds like Soundgarden has written the
track. 'Taste of Regret' is a various
song with different characters. The
closing song is a calm and beautiful
tune and 'Release' is a good way to end
this album.
Overall this is an album for
fans of alternative rock or curious hard
rockers, who want to listen to new,
interesting rock music. A nice
acquaintance...
