Adrenaline Rush from
Stockholm, Sweden is a five-piece with members handpicked for this debut album.
Fronted by an amazing looking female vocalist:
Tåve Wanning, who is sort of starting a new career
in hard rock. She has already had a successful career in Sweden as a teen pop
idol, in the duo Peaches. They were very successful between 2000 and 2005, and Tåve's career began when she was 8 years old.
Under the secure guidance of producer, musician,
and song writer Erik Mårtensson comes a debut album that has attention front and
center on Tåve Wanning. The songs have been cut for her fragile voice, think a
young Debbie Gibson, and the rest of the band plays supporting act most of
the time. This is pure 80's bubble-gum hard rock with catchy and easy
sing-a-long refrains, a lot of "hay-hay's", "oh-oh's" and so on...
The supporting cast does have a very solid
back-ground: Ludvig Turner (guitars, Reach), Alexander Hagman (guitars), Marcus
Johansson (drums, Reach) and Soufian Ma'Aoui (bass, Houston), and they lay down a
serious foundation for the young lady to shine. And she steps up to the
challenge and delivers a more than solid performance.
With influences coming from the likes of Mötley
Crüe, Black 'n' Blue and Warrant, you know what to expect, and their self-titled
debut album ends up being a respectable start; a solid party rock album -
nothing more, noting less.
