The second album from the hard rockers in Voodoo Highway is called 'Showdown' and this is a new acquaintance to me. The band members are coming from Italy and have built their rock music on straight and simple guitar riffs and a classic rock n roll that has a straightforward rhythm that is steady and rhythmic. Voodoo Highway is fronted by a singer, who can take the really high notes and that's a strong reason that this album does not capsize. I've heard similar bands that play hard rock that should be listened to on a high volume and in party-related events. The songs flow easily away and I found the strongest tracks after a couple of listenings and they should be mentioned; 'Midnight Hour', 'Wastin' Miles', 'Cold White Love', 'A Spark from the Sacred Fire' and 'Broken Uncles Inn'. The fat organ sound really contributes to the thick sound and creates a catchy sound. They play a dusty and raw hard rock with groove and gives the listeners a lot of energy through the speakers. I get Skid Row, The Darkness and Rainbow in my head when I listen to Voodoo Highway. This album grows with every spin and I can recommend it to all the fans of positive and straightforward party rock 'n roll. Line up: |
