Venrez is a modern and epic hard rock band from the US. They play a blend of the good old 70's hard rock and grunge rock from the 90's. I've some difficulties to put them in a specific music folder, but it sounds quite similar to Alice In Chains somehow. They tickle my curiosity with their garage style rock with groovy guitars and dusty sound. It's not the rock music I accustomed to, but I find them quite exciting to discover and with the energy they deliver through the speakers it feels very up-lifting and fresh. I can't put the obvious alternative rock label on Venrez, because the influences from the classic hard rock are too overwhelming. However, 'American Illusion' is Venrez' second album. The debut disc 'Sell the Lie' is from 2012.

I still condemn grunge, which killed all my 'hair metal' bands, but I'm quite sure that Venrez has a future, because they have a sound of their own with high quality lyrics and excellent music and that is always something I like.

If you are a fan of the grunge rock and want a new, fresh twist to it, I believe that Venrez is a band you should check out. I personally is relatively pleased to have the acquainted with the band, and they have left an imprint that is not permanent with me.
