Chris Barnes was in a Finnish band?! Jeez, there are so many things I don't know. Apparently, Torture Killer started as a weekend-fun project in 2002. These Finnish guys happen to play a gig where they do Six Feet Under covers. They like the smell of playing this shit live and turn into a real band. Eventually, Barnes hears the Finns live and joins them in 2005. The grand old man of the death grunt is too busy for any real touring, though, so Torture Killer and Barnes part ways in 2008.

The would seem to be amicable, though, for the Six Feet Under front man has lend his tried and tested vocal chords to one of the tunes of 'Phobia'.

It is probably no surprise to you that there are many similarities between Torture Killer and Six Feet Under. The Finnish death mongers are directly influenced by Barnes and his crew. Is it original? No, not the least. Is it good? Yes, it is. Expect nothing new, expect no originality, expect nothing but 35 minutes of brutal assualts of groovy, old school death metal in the Six Feet Under vein. Does a man need more than that on a dull Wednesday evening? I think not! Horns up!
