Honesty towards the readers is the most important thing for a reviewer. But every review is just an opinion and that doesn't mean that you have to agree with me. Albums that I think are not worth listening to can be worshipped by some of  you.

Take for example this new Ritual Steel album; musically it's not bad, but it doesn't do anything for me. The first reason for that is singer Johan Cason, at times he sounds false especially in the higher regions. The second reason is that some of the tracks are too long to stay interesting enough. The third reason is the music itself. Average US metal with big Iron Maiden and Jag Panzer influences, sounding rather old school and outdated to me. Also the songwriting is average and sometimes below average, just listen to "Get Down to the Underworld", a very boring track. For the real die-hards there is a final track that times in at over 23 minutes, in this song you can hear that the band is skilled, but in my opinion they don't have the ability yet to write real interesting songs that stick.

So my final conclusion is that only real die-hard US-metal fans will probably like this.
