I've already read a few positive things about these Fins. These youngsters are between 17 and 19 years old play eighties thrash Bay Area Style. The songs sound like old Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Forbidden and Exodus. They even have an Ed Repka cover to finish it of. The album has a good production and everything is played well and even the songs have a certain groove. With Nuclear Blast behind them I think this band will get rather popular in the years to come. But I don't understand the fuss is all about, they do not bring anything new and bands like Warbringer, Mortillery, Lazarus, Hatchet, Fueled By Fire, Municipal Waste, Evile and all the other 300 new thrash bands are at least of the same quality. Perhaps the young age of the band is something a lot fall for. I certainly am not that positive about Lost Society. It has all been done before and better, there are no new riffs, the style of singing is common for this genre and the lyrics and song titles are big clichés. The lyrics are very simple and you can hear that they are still in their puberty. Song titles like "Thrash All Over You", "Diary of a Thrashman", "Braindead Metalhead" and "Piss Out My Ass" say it all. For me this is no more than a repetition of old thrash riffs packed in new songs, with a nowadays production. Listen to "Fast Loud Death" for example and you have to agree that this sounds like "Kill 'em All"-stuff. They sound like a tribute band and for me this is one of the umpteenth new wave of thrash bands, no more and no less. | ||||||||||||||||||
