It is easy imagine that Jorn Lande is difficult to work with, maybe that's why he is releasing so many solo albums... On this his latest he is delivering once more, giving some of his own songs and a few cover versions an orchestral twist. While he hasn't chosen the most obvious songs (IMHO), this is not just another "Best of" album with a twist, he has still picked out some amazing songs, which is just a testament to his very strong back-catalogue. Songs like "The World I See", "Time to be King", "Black Morning" and "A Thousand Cuts" among many are given a breath of fresh air, and are elevated to even higher levels. Jorn Lande is without a doubt one of the most talented vocalists in all of metal, and he continues to deliver at the highest level on "Symphonic". Fans of his do already have these songs in their possession, so does this album offer enough to warrant a purchase? Well I think the "new" versions are stronger and offer an improved version, so my answer is: Yes! And the cover versions alone speak volumes! | ||||||||||||||||||
