Sometimes there are releases with different styles combined, which are neither one nor the other. Fire in Fairyland combines pop punk/hardcore with metalcore. Some tracks are very heavy and aggressive with female vocals combined with metalcore shouting. But there are also almost radio friendly songs like "Plant Your Seed" and "So Called Friends". Anna Peschke shines in these songs, but in combination with the aggressive shouts, she drowns a bit, the aggressive vocals dominate too much.

One thing is sure though, you can't complain about variation on this album. Perhaps there is a market for this band, but I'm not convinced yet. I think they should make a definite choice about where they want to go musically. Focus on rather mainstream female oriented songs or more heavier stuff?

On the other hand I guess that this band will get the crowd crazy playing live. Personally I can't get used to this combination of styles, but I will not be surprised if this band will become very popular in 2013. Fans of Paramore, Mayday Parade and A Day to Remember should at least check them out.
