No doubt about it, with a well-thought out presentation (a full coloured info sheet, a real CD and printed out lyrics) the promotion campaign will not be the problem for this band. What also needs to be good is the music of course. These Germans sure know how to play good metal. Sure it isn't very original, but what they play is of a good quality. Melodic classic Gothenburg death metal in Soilwork and Dark Tranquility style. Grunting vocals combined with clean singing and with good thrash riffs. This is their third album and I'm not familiar with the first two, but this one sure will find its way to the metal heads. They compensate the lack of originality with good musicianship and nice melodies. In the instrumental track "Zero" the band implements some Dimmu Borgir influences and even that works for me. The soli are nice and melodic, just listen to the one in the track "My Order of One". New singer Michael has a nice unforced grunt and the clean singing parts of Niko aren't bad either. Like I already said before there are enough riffs and song structures you have heard before, but on the other hand they at least try to be a bit different like in "Zero" and the power metal refrain in the track "Abandoned". Every Gothenburg style metal fan will be pleased with this album, even if this band will not win the originality price. | |||||||||||||||||
