Throwback/Vintage/Classic metal/rock. There is many names to the old-school hard rock sound, which bands like Graveyard, Whichcraft, Scorpion Child and Ghost have brought back to the spotlight. Black Trip is a new Swedish rock project with some very experienced members. On vocals we find Joseph Tholl (ex-Enforcer), Sebastian Ramstedt on guitar (Necrophobic, Nifelheim), on bass Johan Bergbäck (Necrophobic, Nifelheim) and finally on the drums Jonas Wikstrand (Enforcer). Creator of the band and writer of all music is Peter Stjärnvind (ex-Entombed), who show us another side of his musical craftsmanship.

He was former the drummer in Entombed and in Black Trip he plays guitar. Black Trip plays a blend of old 70's rock n roll with 80's NWOBHM and it has quite a lot of mood and influences from the early Demon albums, Thin Lizzy, Mercyful Fate and the early Maiden sound. It feels like I'm back in my room when I was 14 years old (in the beginning of the 80's) and bought myself a new vinyl album.

I got strong vibes from 'Night of the Demon' and Iron Maidens two disc's with Paul DiAnno, because it's almost the same muffled guitar sound and Joseph Tholl has a very similar voice to Paul Dianno. Best songs: Putting Out the Fire, No Tomorrow, Voodoo Queen and the brilliant title track: Goin' Under. Big heart and soul in the songs creates an atmosphere that feels genuine and this definitely has a future. Big applause to this project.

If you like the old Iron Maiden sound, then this is really something you have to check out!! I do recommend a purchase.
