A nice debut this 'Across the Seven Seas'. Ex-members of Angel of Eden and Artension form the base of this band.

Vocalist John West, Mistheria on keys and Roger Staffelbach on guitars. The guest musicians on this album are rather impressive; Dani Löble (Helloween), Chris Caffery (Savatage, TSO), John Macaluso (Yngwie Malmsteen, TNT) and Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus). No doubt about the musical skills on this record and also the songs are well written.

The album is full of neo-classical (up)-tempo power metal with some progressive influences. John West has the perfect voice for this genre and the production is top notch. Lovers of Royal Hunt, Yngwie Malmsteen, Artension and Majestic will like this for sure. The band succeeds in keeping the songs rather heavy and with a good tempo, only the ballad "Ode to My Angel" is the exception.

It happens too often that known musicians put together in a band can't live up to expectations, but in this case they sure do!
