I don't think I have to say that this is the band of former Angra vocalist Edu Falaschi, but in case there is someone who doesn't know that, your welcome! Their latest album, 'Motion' was a mix of several styles like: power metal, a bit thrash and progressive metal. Not a very easy album for metal fans because of the variety. On Angra albums Edu sings a lot more in the higher regions than on the Almah records. Those higher singing parts made the first Angra albums (with Edu) special and gave them something different from a lot of power metal bands. On this new album he again sings rather low, but every now and then we hear what he is really capable of. Also the songs are more accessible than on the predecessor, less rambling. The combination of power metal and progressive pieces is more natural on this album. Sometimes less is more and that also counts for this album. Not all the 12 tracks are strong enough in my opinion, with 9 or 10 tracks the album would have been better of. My final conclusion is that this record is better than 'Motion' , but not as good as 'Fragile Equality'. Judge for yourself if this is something for you because there is enough interesting music to be heard here. | ||||||||||||||||||
