The Vendetta hailing from the UK and let by song writer, guitarist and singer Edward Box is back with their third album, and "World Under Fire" is their best work to date. Their roots are clearly solid founded in the British soil, and the bands that made NWoBHM big have clearly have had their impact on these Brits as well. It is seldom these days to hear a band so honest to the style and sound of the 80s British Metal scene, unless we are talking about under-under-underground bands that only releases their albums on vinyl in a very, very edition of no more than 500 copies. But Vendetta still sounds like a 80s bands catapulted into this century, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. "World Under Fire" is their most complete and mature album so far, and the objection I've had in the past - the vocals - have improved as well, but is still the thing that holds them back the most. The highlights to me are at the very beginning "Halo in Black" and at the very end: "All Your Setting Sun" (their best composition ever) and "We are Legion", which should be a true live highlight. Looking for a genuine traditional metal album anno 2012, then I suggest you take this album into consideration... | ||||||||||||||||||
