A good deal of bands have gathered to celebrate
Emperor about 20 years after the release of their first album, In the
Nightside Eclipse. Mostly small bands are represented, with a couple of
well-known ones that gets one especially curious about this release.
In Honour of Icon E is an interesting mix of sounds and dynamics,
displaying the variety of the black metal sounds around.
Many are rather perfectly true copies of the original, which makes me excited
like a teenager who has made it after a thousand hours of rehearsing. Others
differ in their way to perform, play, and sound, which gives the opportunity to
rediscover Emperor's pearls.
A must have for the Emperor freak as well as the nostalgic about the
(first) Golden Age of Black Metal.
