Four years after Triumph made their successful comeback appearance at Sweden Rock Festival, the show is now available on CD and DVD. Triumph has always been a strange commodity in the hard rock scene; releasing one strong album after another, but they will never be mentioned among the most influential bands from the 70s and 80s. And if you take into consideration that eight of the band's album have reached gold status (or higher) and they have also been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, it remains a bit strange to me. Albums like "Allied Forces", "Never Surrender" and "The Sport of Kings" rightfully deserve to be mentioned as hard rock highlights of the 80s. Known for their virtuoso musicianship and for being a force live they return to show the world that they haven't forgotten their strengths... and that's exactly what we are served on this release: a band playing their asses off, performing at a very high technical level and just having fun on stage playing their old classics. Like any other live album; it's mostly for the hardcore fans that simply need to buy everything a band puts out. But this release offers enough for the common hard rock fan to at least give it a spin or two... | ||||||||||||||||||
