UK's Premium Melodic Hard Rock band TEN have finally completed their new album for release later this fall. This much anticipated album is TEN's tenth studio release and it will be entitled "Heresy and Creed". Creator of the band, the vocalist/composer Gary Hughes says: "It is a particularly strong selection of material. I feel this is possibly our most mature, and most diverse collection of songs ever. There is literally something in there for everyone and every taste". I agree to 100 %. The band's history began in the mid-nineties and Ten have had many faces over the years and 2012 current line up is: Gary Hughes - Lead Vocals, John Halliwell - Rhythm Guitar, Dan Mitchell - Lead Guitars, Darrel Treece-Birch - Keyboards, Steve McKenna - Bass Guitars and Max Yates - Drums. I appreciate and salute the bands that dares to think a bit outside their normal frames and dares to stretch the limiting genre walls a bit. 'Heresy and Creed' glides from tracks that are in a hard, tough and fast-paced metal across the hard rock swamp and all the way out to the wonderful melodic soft cuddly rock. Gary does not have that typical high-toned AOR voice, which also contributes to the band having a very distinct and different style for the genre. Ten builds their songs with strong choruses and unlike many bands in the melodic rock builds Hughes and c/o their songs around considerably longer choruses with more words and not five or six words, which otherwise is the proven and common way of thinking in the genre. The guitars are like a hot dense fog through the songs and they caress my ear canals. No long solos or anything that interferes with songs swinging rhythm. I find many favorites; "Arabian Nights", "Raven's Eye", "Unbelievable" and "The Preistess" are my top tracks. Very different in character, and my overall impression of "Heresy and Creed" is a disc with adult music packed in a modern high class rock n roll package. If
you like high quality melodic rock then is Ten a valued
purchasing option. |
