A tsunami with hard rock bands from Denmark is flooding the market and Superdirt from good old Copenhagen is another unsigned band with talent and nice groovy rock sound. With classic hard rock leather attitude and a coarse grained greasy sound and a singer with the rough vocal chords. If you expect innovative metal or something like that in a more equilibristic direction then you can stop reading now, because this is straight forward hard rock n roll that will appeal to those, who wants to hear heavy guitars with great catchy riffs and simple, raw lyrics with no major ulterior motives for a world revolution. This is music you like to hear when you are in a smoking bar and emptying glass after glass and there is a band like Superdirt on a small stage. Party rock is a good stamp for this type of rock. I'm pretty weak for this kind of rock because it doesn't requires 20-30 spins before you find your favourite tracks. It's something that's perfect to throw in the CD player on a testosterone - filled party. If you are a fan of the American south state influenced hard rock, this is a band you must check out. On this album I found some gems for the afterworld. The tracks that will stay in my 'save folder' is: "Dirty Jesus", "Beer Me", "All In", "Get Hammered", "The Dirt" and of course the blazing track "Wild Cherry". Superdirt is: Frederik Arleth Bergstein - Vocals, Thomas Johansen, Bass, Jacob Gronvall Hansen, Guitars and Andreas Marslew-Nauta on the Drums. |
