Not so many moons ago, I was mightily impressed by a promo CD
from a young, local band called Slay The Shepherd. They
showed a lot of provess, a lot of power and energy and a talent for putting
crushing song together.
Lo and behold, some months have passed by and the band has changed its name into
Rapid Dominance (I have no clue why, the old had a better ring to it?), and
here's a new recording, this time with six tracks, and again equally impressing
material. Premonition is a fusion of metal styles again; death metal and thrash
are the primary influences, and again I have to mention Lamb of God and Exhorder
as bands I come to think of. It's a cool and brutal mix with melody infused.
I have to lift my hat to a band who are able to deliver a more than decent
version of Death's Spirit Crusher - respect!
