I was busy filling in the list best albums of 2012 when I put this record on. The intro already made me curious and after the 9-minute long opener I was focused thru the whole spin. Those of you, who don't know the band or its history, yet can look it up on the internet. I will stick to the new album here.

The riffs are razor sharp, the songs are tight and with a lot of melody. Their 2009 album 'Riot Squad' was a real hammer, but this new one is even better. I even wonder if there is a better melodic thrash band in Germany at the moment. You can't compare them to Destruction or Kreator, therefore Paradox is too melodic and harmonic, but their riffs could easily fit in. Another difference is that Charly Steinhauer has a cleaner singing style with more melody. Every track has something special and you should really experience it because words almost can't describe it. It just all sounds so natural and logical and it never gets bored.

I don't know if any of you still has some money left, but if I had to choose between buying some firecrackers and this album, I would buy this firework. Any band that can cover Rainbow's "A Light in the Black" with such an excellent result has to be a real top act. I think I will have to add this album to the best list 2012.
