I probably shouldn't think too much about it, but I can't help it: This is one of those album titles I can't make any sense of. Until the stars WON'T fall?! That would have to be...now? Or in fact...always? Stars have a tendency not to fall, haven't they? Or is it just me?
Anyway, nonsensical album set aside, the northern Italian combo Mourn In Silence have given birth to a wonderful album! They've put together a full-length which holds a mix of black metal in the Dimmu Borgir vein and goth, and it work like a charm for yours truly.
Mourn In Silence allow themselves the time to slow down on e.g. the title track and most notably the beautiful Un Lacrimoso Rivo. They also allow themselves to fire away on all cylinders and let the symphonic black metal take charge. You have a bit of choir, strings, keyboards, female voices, then a powerful blast of Dimmu metal a singer who sounds a lot like Shagrath included.
The blend works for me - the big approval stamp is hereby given. Check it out.
