Firewind/Uli
John Roth/Metalium-drummer Michael Ehré started
this power-project back in 2009. The bands debut
came the same year and it's called 'Brace for
Impact'. On '2 Big 2 Fail' Michael has gathered his
forces again and created a top-class piece of work. Amazing
vocals from the Italian powerhouse Jan Manenti and
with big fat guitars and groovy melodies this
album is full of tasty tracks right in the mouth to fan's
of bands like Masterplan, Firewind,
Whitesnake and Rainbow.
The first half in '2 Big 2 Fail' very awesome,
cheeky and have many energetic tracks. Good tempo
and brilliant choruses brings out my air-guitar
and especially in 'XTC', one of the introductory
songs on the album, which is a must track on the
rock party's. 'Burn the Night' is a classical German power metal song with
a strong voice and fast
drums. In 'The One', 'Restless Heart' and 'Home'
the tempo is slower and that fit's Jan's voice
really, really well and it's a nice interruption
in contrast to the faster songs. The heavy 'The Great
Escape' is a uneven song with lighter parts and
strong and powerful choruses, (and a nice guitar
solo in this song). 'We Fall' doesn't sound as
if it's the same band, so the skip button is pressed. Love.Might.Kill's album have a strong emphasis on
strong guitars and great vocals with well
stacked melodies and is a nicely packaged delivery
of well-produced hard rock.
The two closing tracks are also strong melodic
metal tracks that is in a level above middle
score. The other half is not at the same high
level and intensity as the first songs and my overall
score of the album do they reach a rating in the 80s.
Love.Might.Kill
is a very nice acquaintance.
