The amazing voice from Jimi Jamieson is back again and this time is he alone. The other album this years was together with Bobby Kimball. 2012 is a great year with many amazing albums in the melodic rock genre and this is one of the better discs this year. Jimi has Eric Mårtensson (W.E.T, Eclipse, Toby Hitchcock) as producer/writer/mixer and performing (with band) at his side. It's Eric, who has made these wonderful melodies specially to Jimi's vocal tunes and Eric is a modern music melodic rock wizard, who's making album after album at the absolute top level all the time. It's very 80's over the sound, but packed in a modern production. Frontiers Records has a 24 carat golden singer with a great vocal chords and he'll be a big asset for them in the future. 'Never Too Late' is a 100% melodic rock album with everything you can desire from both musicians and the vocalist. I have a lot of favourite songs on the album and there is not one a single filler track. It is, as
usual when Mr. Mårtensson is involved, full
of real catchy tunes with superb neatly crocheted
melodious musical pieces that hover inside of my
ear canals and I just want more and more of this
album. Every time I listened through this album, I
constantly find new favorite tunes. It is not only Jimi's vocal performance that makes this a
wonderful warming disc to sit indoors and listen
to in the front of the open fire. It is a rare,
well-played and well brushed production, which
makes it impossible get bored of the eleven tracks
that you easily get on simpler album. |
