Ten classic melodic hard rock song packed into 'Legacy Of Life' and performed with one of the world's best session players. The excellent drummer J.K Impera is the creator of this Swedish project and has recruited Mr. Tommy Denander as the lead guitarist! In my world Denander is a living institution among European studio musicians and he has been involved on more than 2000 albums. Tommy has been playing together with everyone worth to mentioning in this rock genre. Matti Alfonzetti takes care of the microphone job after John Corabi (Motley Crüe), who was the original vocalist in the band and Matti has done it with honor. Alfonzetti is another Swedish vocalist 'bigger' rock bands need to discover! What a clear powerful voice. Bass player is Mr. Mats Vassfjord (Vinnie Vincent, John Corabi, Grand Design). I've been waiting for this piece of art for quite some time and I have extremely high expectations for it. After approximately ten seconds into the first track, I spread all my fingers! 10/10! The groove and the magic guitar riffs is astonishing. It's one of the strongest tracks this year (so far). Can they keep this high level through the tracklist? 'Kiss of Death' is the next song on the list and it is not up to the high mark like the previous song. I love Matti's strong vocals and the amazing, guitar virtuoso Denander's unique sound, through the ten tracks. Tommy's trademark is the fast, clean and exact riffs on the melodic scales. J.K is pounding the drums perfectly. The first half is world-class, and the second half is very, very good. My very high expectations were not totally fulfilled, but close enough. Brilliance and musicality in overdose. Melodies that have been blended together and out comes these amazing musical wares. Here and there, they have decorated them with some absolutely superb guitar solos that give them its' extraordinary spicing. It's one hour of positive rock steaming and it feels very good in my heart when I am listening to 'Legacy of Life'. This work will get several spins many times in the future. Anyway; this is a must buy if you are a fan of the melodic hard rock genre. |
