Not sporting a typically Norwegian sound, Ground Zero System remind me a lot of Danish Mnemic and to some extent Soilwork. The vocal is perhaps a bit rougher in the growling/screaming parts, but the underlying ideas are very much the same.

Yes, the clever reader will have guessed that the sound is modern with the mix of growl and clean vocal that Fear Factory developed and turned into one of the trademarks of a genre, and this self-released album has a straight-forward groove which is perhaps not highly original in this day and age, but at least it's true to style and performed with conviction.

'Solid' is the term that comes to mind, because the four-piece clearly know what they're doing and play really well - still, no boundaries are pushed to the extent where you go 'Wow!'.

An effort that is definitely approved, but there's still some way to go before Ground Zero System blow me away.
