Look, I'm fairly pissed off right now. It's after 11 p.m. I'm on a flight from Prague to Copenhagen after two days of meetings. I know that I'm going to spend the night in a Copenhagen hotel because this flight arrived four hours after the scheduled time, and my connecting flight from Copenhagen departed like...two hours ago. My wife hates me, my kids miss me and I'm beat after a couple of nights of too little sleep in a hotel room in Prague.
FUCK IT!
I mean...FUCK IT!
So what's better than starting up the latest Fuck The Facts release which I should have reviewed three months ago and just haven't because other releases came in the way or work did or whatever?
This is therapy music.
This is how I feel right now. I want to scream at the stewardess (or shag her, you choose). I want to go to the cockpit and scream at the pilot. I feel like pounding at the seat in front of me and annoy the hell out of the unfortunate passenger there who is probably just as pissed off as I am.
Mel from Fuck The Facts is a pretty, wee girl from Ottawa. And, boy, that girl can snarl and scream at the world. I wish I were her right now. Catharsis!
Fuck The Facts is music for the angry, but not in a unintelligent way. It's complicated music in many ways and comparing it to punk (as the promo letter does) isn't really a way to do Mel and the boys justice. There's more to 'Die Miserable' than punk. There's in some odd way melody in the chaos, there's rhyme in the lack of reason, and right now, it's the soundtrack for my frustration and anger at the sodding airline company!
AAAAAAAAAARGH!
A big thank you to Fuck The Facts. Your music is just right, right now.
