The progressive metal scene is a global affair, another proof to that is Domain of Dreams from Bulgaria. And they have been around for a very long time; they started back in 1987 and have prior to this self-titled album released two albums: "Oligovremie" (Oligotime) in 1997 and "Jelaia" (I Want) in 2007 and they are a well-established live act in their region supporting bands like W.A.S.P. and Heaven and Hell. The nine dream songs show an experienced and talented band that are more than capable of writing exciting progressive metal, but two things are however holding them back: a mediocre production and a vocalist, who is struggling for most of the time. Each song shows just how much potential the band possesses, but the general feel is spoiled by the two low-points. Still a band that could make a stir given the right circumstances, so I do hope they'll continue pursuing their dreams and move forward from this... | ||||||||||||||||||
