This sludge/doom metal band has mixed up their sound with a south rock approach with very groovy and melodic songs. The Germans in Dirt have really tried to do something on their own and special. The brain behind this metal project is the vocalist Sven Zaklikowski, who did all the vocals, drumming, guitar and bass playing on the debut album from the band in 2009 (Suicide Blues). This time they have a solid band line up with: Theimo Hille - guitar, Florina Stollberg - guitar, Marius Rebmann - bass and the hard hitting Marcel Unger on the drums behind Sven.

The sound is commutes between blues based rock songs like 'Never Change My Ways' and the title track 'Rock 'n' Roll Accidents' and heavy doom metal tracks like 'Crush'. Sven has a raspy tone in his voice, which fits like a hand in a glove into the dusty and rough sound and the two guitar men are making a fat wall of thunder, which is streaming out of my speakers.

Track eight 'Breathe In' is on of my favourite tracks with really heavy guitar riffing and much of the dirty dose of rock they have big talent for. My eyebrows went very high up in my forehead when the following song (One Step Away) started with a few simple chords and one sugar sweet ballad in the worst AOR class started stroking my ear canals. A fantastic guitar solo in the middle of it all actually took my breath away. The final song is a sleeping pill that makes me jump back to the beginning and to the really vital songs on the album.

There are some influences of stoner rock as well, so if you like a bit darker and simultaneously heavy funky rock with lots of guitar riffs and powerful bass sound, this is probably very interesting for you to check out.
