Potential? Yes, huge.
Technical prowess? Indeed.
Cool riffs? Yessir, that too.
Drummer? Sounds excellent.
Singer? Also approved. He sports a growl that lands somewhere between Jeff
Walker and Johann Hegg.
How are the songs put together, then? Well, they're alright. When I say alright,
I mean that this is far from Master of Puppets quality song writing, and I mean
it lacks the seamlessness of e.g. Amon Amarth tunes, and it's in my humble
opinion a seamlessness this kind of melodic death metal calls for.
This is in many ways a good album and it displays obvious talent, but it also
shows that Cryogen has more work to do.
