Hell, yeah! Three songs, three kicks in the balls. Blackened death metal can be a bit
of a hit and miss; sometimes it's actually a death metal band with a guy in the
front who prefers to squeal rather than growl, other times again it's a black
metal band who think that by introducing a bit of growling they're all of a
sudden a death metal band.
In the case of Finnish band Coprolith, the black metal element is mainly a bit
of the riffing and some of the drumming, and that's it. They're really more a
death metal band with a melodic touch plus metalcore if you ask me.
These three songs are not a revolution and the band's not ultra-tight, but
their music lives and holds the dynamics I like in music. This is definitely worth a listen for fans of death metal which is not strictly
old school.
