They're apparantly the cream of the crop of death metal in Switzerland.
Can't say I've heard of them before, but I like what I hear! 'On Top of the Food
Chain' is like the proverbial kick in the balls. Deep impact!
Carnal Play play potent, sharp and brutal death metal with a grindcore edge and
with metalcore elements. The sound of the album is not quite like all the others,
since the production can best be described as 'thin'. Still, there is lots of
power in the output, and the number of riffs churned out by guitarist Isabella
should keep most of the riff-maniacs out there happy.
This is a death metal release that doesn't quite sound like all the rest, and I
suspect it could divide the waters because of the sound. Anyway, worth giving a
listen!
Oh, and the comic book like artwork is really cool!
